Looking for an accessible multi media recorder

Category: accessible Devices

hey I am starting school and i want to buy something to record class notes digitally. I don't like tapes anymore they take way too long and their hard to make it so you can just jump to a section. Got any ideas and as for money we'll put 1000 dollars as the limit. So lets start hearing those wish lists for accessible multi media players.

Hmmmm

I'm amazed noone has replied to this one, yet. As it happens, I'm now looking for a similar device. Must be hand-held, abled to record MP3 audio, and have some basic editing. Oh, must also be able to transfer content to my PC. I've started playing with podcasting, and want to record while mobile.

Cheers,

-Dave

The Rio mp3 players and what not can record data to its hard drive, I think. If not the Rio, then the Zen Touch from Noman (or was that Creative Labs?)
With over 5 gb of recording space, you could record quite long if you were able to set the bit rate low enough.
Of course, if you want true recording, go with a hard drive DAC.

It's creative labs in regard to the zen players. The software is not accessible though! I warn you now!

I'd say go with the plextalk CD recorder which has many features as well as internal CD ripping and burning. It's speech driven as well which is a nice touch. A bit expensive but a great bit of kit! Also, mini disc would be an option. Reuseable media, digital recording, and a lot of the new mini disc recorders have a USB port on board for data transfer to a pc.

Also, maybe try to find an mp3 player with say a 20 gig hard drive that has an onboard mic. That might be the best way to go if you're on a budget as the plextalk is still quite pricy.
